Sephardi Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar signed a ruling on Monday to prevent individual religious court judges from ruling on the annulment of conversions. The Knesset passed a law yesterday that grants amnesty to most of those convicted for protest activities against the 2005 Disengagement from the Gaza Strip.The bill, will pardon about 400 of the 482 people who faced criminal proceedings related to the disengagement. Most are teens convicted of minor offenses. The Ministerial Committee for Legislation will discuss a proposal that would require attaching a "countdown clock" to traffic signals that would show drivers how much time is left until the light turns green or red.
