Beytenu MKs Leah Shemtov and Moshe Matalon will present to the government's Ministerial Law Committee a proposed law that, if enacted, would require all schools in Israel to teach Zionism and Israeli history. The law would require that all schools teach the subjects for at least three hours a week. Arab schools would be required to teach the curriculum as well.
"It's a good idea for a country that was founded on the basis of Zionism to teach its values, along with the history of the Jewish nation, to the coming generations," said Matalon. "A nation that does not know its past has no future."
