Deputy Interior Minister Kirshenbaum Lauds the Implementation of her ‘Tzohar Bill’

Published on: May 19, 2013

Secretary-General of Yisrael Beytenu and Deputy Interior Minister MK Faina Kirshenbaum referred to the publication that registration areas for marriage will be opened and each couple would be able to register wherever they want, as stated in the ‘Tzohar Bill’, which she introduced.
“This is another example of  Yisrael Beytenu as a policy trail-blazer . I congratulate the different parties which today understand the importance of this law, which in the previous Knesset was fought for by Yisrael Beytenu and managed to pass through its first reading,” Deputy Minister Kirshenbaum said.
“The purpose of opening the regional marriage registration is to facilitate the marriage of couples and create competition between rabbis in attracting couples, since it entails economic gain. Thus, overly strict rabbis who in the past lost couples who wish to marry will have to relax their conditions. This is a revolution in the field of marriage in Israel and eases the process for couples who wish to marry according to the laws of Moses and Israel.”
