FM Liberman calls for ‘harsh and disproportionate’ response to Hezbollah attack
Published on: January 28, 2015Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman met today in Beijing with China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi. The two discussed strengthening relations between Israel and China, bilateral issues, negotiations between the P5+1 and Iran, and the global fight against terrorism.
During the meeting, FM Liberman related to the events on the northern border and said that he believes Israel needs to change its approach and to respond to the firing of rockets at our territory and citizens very harshly and in a disproportionate manner, as China and the U.S. would respond. FM Liberman said to his Chinese counterpart that in our response to this dangerous escalation Israel should receive support from our friends around the world. In fact, the whole world should adopt a new approach to dealing with terrorism and should not suffer serious provocations like those we saw today from Hezbollah. FM Liberman said that the world’s terrorist organizations operate under different names but have the same goal towards the West and the Middle East.
Before the meeting, FM Liberman opened an Israeli financial event in China and said that the cooperation in high-tech strengthens the relations between the two countries in the economic sphere and strengthens ties in general.
