FM Liberman Condemns Vandals of Romanian Church

Published on: October 9, 2012

Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Avigdor Liberman met with Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Korltn.

At the meeting, FM Liberman strongly condemned on behalf of the entire Israeli government yesterday’s attack on the Romanian church in Jerusalem.  Liberman said that such acts were carried out by extremist elements and that all places of special sensitivity were targets.  He pointed to the recent vandalism at Yad Vashem as a case of a Jewish site suffering similar attacks.  The Israeli Foreign Minister assured his Romanian counterpart that police and other law enforcement officials were doing their best to catch the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Liberman and Korltn also discussed bilateral issues, the strengthening of cooperation between Israel and Romania in various fields and the issues at stake between Israel and the EU and regional issues.
