FM Liberman Meets with Ban Ki Moon

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman met with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, Minister Liberman said to Ban, “We appreciate the position of the international community, which has unequivocally supported Israel’s right to self-defense.”  Liberman also thanked the UN Secretary General for his efforts to bring calm to the region.

“Together with this,” said the Foreign Minister, “The public calls for Israel to hold back from launching a ground offensive strengthen Hamas and lengthen the current conflict. If Israel is forced to enter Gaza in a ground offensive, it will not be of limited scope.  It will not be “Cast Last 2” but rather “Defensive Shield 2.”
