Internet Providers Must Inform Clients of Obscene Sites

Published on: August 9, 2012

MK Alex Miller’s bill to obligate internet and cellphone service providers to provide their clients with free and efficient tools for filtering obscene and otherwise harmful sites and content has become law.

The communication and content providers will also have to inform their clients of harmful sites and content, especially content that may be harmful to children.

Under the new law, parents will receive free information and tools for blocking potentially dangerous sites, applicable to both computers and cellular phones.

“While the benefits of the internet are unquestionable, we must be wise to the dangers.  As parents, it is our job to protect our children from dangerous content.  This new law makes it the responsibility of the internet provider as well,” said MK Miller
