MK Shemtov Meets with Financial Guru Robert Shemin

Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, MK Lia Shemtov met with financial guru Robert Shemin, author of  the international bestseller “How Come that Idiot’s Rich and I’m not?” as part of her efforts to strengthen small and medium businesses in Israel.

MK Shemtov, who serves as chairman of the Subcommittee on Small and Medium-size Businesses explained to Shemin that small business have serious difficulties in obtaining bank loans in the early stages of the business. “When faced with such bureaucratic barriers, it’s no wonder that so many small businesses close within the first five years,” explained MK Shemtov. Shemin said that a similar situation existed in the U.S.

MK Shemtov introduced a program to empower small businesses. “We have started to test an innovative project that integrates successful investors in small business activity,” said Shemtov.

Shemin, a Jewish multi millionaire living in Miami, is considered a senior U.S. financial guru.  He told reporters that Israel was very dear to his heart.. “I want to help you wherever possible and use my knowledge to this purpose.” MK Shemtov thanked Shemin for his support. The two are scheduled to meet again to promote this exciting project.
