Yair Shamir Plants Trees in Ariel
Published on: January 28, 2013In celebration of both the Tu Beshevat festival (the arboreal new year) and the official recognition of Ariel as a university, I, together with Beytenu Youth, planted 18 trees on the university campus.
Tu Beshevat has strong Zionist connotations. It reminds us of the strong connection between the Jewish people and the land.
Yisrael Beytenu worked hard for Ariel to gain university status. It gives me great pride to plant 18 trees in a place that symbolizes the ever-renewing Zionist endeavor and the importance of Jewish presence in the land of our forefathers, Judea and Samaria.
