MK Dr. Shimon Ohayon was Deputy Chairperson of the School of Education at Bar Ilan University. Ohayon has served as a lecturer at Ashkelon College and the Women’s College of Education and Judaism at the Bnei Akiva Yeshiva. Since 1999, he was the director of the Spanish Jewry Heritage Center. Ohayon was also an adviser to the President of the University on Jewish culture and identity. Ohayon is also a member of the Zionist Organization and the Zionist Executive Committee and Chairperson of Moroccan Jews in Israel. Married +3

Dr. Ohayon is the Chair of the Caucus for the Rights of Jewish Refugees from Arab Lands, the Status of Teachers and Combating Antisemitism.
